Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) Bungendore NSW
Specialist Communications Solution
When Australia's Department of Defence took possession of its new headquarters at Bungendore NSW, it signalled the end of three-and-a-half years of planning.
KLM Group's installation incorporated a wide range of specialist communications cabling, the vast majority of it fibre, to service 10,000 outlets in a design and construct contract. At peak times during the project KLM Group had over 60 people working on site delivering the stringent requirements of the project.
The new headquarters complex represents a capital investment of about $300 million in equipment, buildings and infrastructure. The facility is designed to accommodate around 750 military and civilian Defence staff, with flexibility to increase staff numbers depending on the level of operational activity.
The new headquarters will integrate for the first time, staff and agencies at the strategic and operational level. The new Headquarters will also improve the effectiveness of joint planning, the allocation of resources for military operations and the command and control of operations.
